In late 2020, the story broke that Hunter Biden’s laptop was found at a computer store and contained salacious information that was sure to implicate his father who was running for and would eventually win the Presidency. First off, the laptop never implicated the President and nothing found on the laptop demonstrated that Hunter Biden had committed crimes.
The initial action from the Democrats and many who wanted to defeat Trump was to claim that the laptop was placed there by the Russians or the computer was manipulated by them to create the perception of wrongdoing by the President or his son. Dozens of former intel community members prematurely and wrongly signed a letter claiming it was Russian disinformation. The New York Post ran with the story anyway and here’s where it gets dicey. The White House and the FBI both contacted Facebook and Twitter and asked (keyword asked) that the platforms essentially kill the Post story. Word got out that these conversations happened and MAGA world lost their minds.
They claimed this was a huge deep state cover-up, election interference and had Twitter not left the story alone, Trump would have won. The fervor was so wild and unhinged that many Republicans argued that Twitter was actually a quasi-government owned/controlled platform as a result and thus should be treated as a government entity for First Amendment analysis purposes.
Since then, Elon opened his big mouth and eventually was forced by a Delaware court to pay way too much money to buy Twitter for $44m. After Elon took over, he decided to back Trump by committing millions in donations to help him win. But that’s not all. Elon has done things on his new platform that are so much more egregious than anything Twitter ever did to help the democrats and it’s not close.
For starters, Elon has blocked dozens of journalists on X for unexplained reasons. Recently, X (or Elon) blocked an account from sharing a picture of Trump’s ear looking unharmed and asking how there is not any scarring from the assassination attempt. When Harris replaced Biden, a group called “White Dudes for Harris” held a fundraiser on X that raised $4 million that night. While the group was still raising money, Elon suspended the account.
Probably the most egregious example, Elon created a webpage that purported to help voters register to vote. If the voter lives in an uncompetitive state such as California, the page takes them to a state government page where the voter can actually register. If the voter is from a battleground state, the website asks for tons of data from the user and then ends with a thank you page rather than a redirect to a voter registration page. The Super PAC is already being investigated by state AGs.
After Elon committed to supporting Trump, Trump reversed his position on EV cars. The bribe was so transparent that Trump literally said he has to support EV’s now because Elon endorsed him and is donating a lot of money. Given all of this, is it a mystery why Elon created the Super PAC that collects voter data. To put the icing on the cake, Elon created a “For you” tab on X that is a curated timeline of some of the most repulsive right win accounts like CatTurd and Vivek. I routinely accidently slide my finger to that side of the phone and am exposed to pure Trump propaganda.
It’s no secret, at least to me, that the right is now copying the far left in almost every facet. The issue however is that when they do, they blow completely passed the left’s efforts without even a wink or a nod to the irony or hypocrisy that every act offends.
Elon is not a good guy and not someone to hold in high esteem. The man literally blamed the “woke mind virus” for his inability to read legal/medical documents that led to him consenting to his daughter receiving a sex change. If anything, his red pilling, in his words, appears to be caused by his daughter’s medical procedures, which is shocking. The richest man in the world is blaming left-wing social media accounts for his own decision to consent to his child’s medical procedures.
No wonder Elon is supporting Trump. They’re both crying baby billionaires that love to play victim.
