Hope. It’s a Choice.

Today, Joseph R. Biden Jr. became the 46th President of the United States in an environment that we have never seen in our lifetime. God willing, we’ll never see nor will we endure anything like the last four years or witness something so ugly as we did on January 6, 2021. We have a choice to make now. We as a nation can be hopeful for the next four years, or we can learn nothing from the past two decades. This country is not defined by the government we have, the people who occupy the White House or the worst of us. No. America is defined by the best of us. The most courageous. Those who go the extra mile. Those who give their lives to service to others. You. Me. All of us.

That is the America I know. The America I believe in. Be proud to be from this country. We’re going to bring this nation back, but we have to do it together. Black, white, brown, blue, red, green everyone.

Barbara Kingsolver once said about hope, ““The very least you can do in your life is figure out what you hope for. And the most you can do is live inside that hope. Not admire it from a distance but live right in it, under its roof.” I choose hope and I’d urge you to join me.
